How to Plan the Perfect Wedding

The first major event for a new family is the wedding.  Its significance comes from the fact that it is a step into a new, more responsible time in the couple’s life, and it is a special ceremony for the bride and groom which will never be forgotten.

Everyone wants their wedding to be perfect, and many girls grow up dreaming of the perfect wedding from a very young age.  There is no standard recipe for planning the perfect wedding.  Each wedding is different, but its success depends on common factors.

First of all, the couple leads to decide what type of wedding would be suitable for them, and how they define “perfection.”  Some people’s idea of the perfect wedding is a huge event in an elegant location, where everyone is beautiful, and everything runs perfectly.

However, the perfect wedding is a relative term.  Who is it perfect for?  The bride and groom?  The guests?  The adage is true that you can’t please everyone.  My opinion has always been that it has to be perfect for the bride and her mother.  At least, that’s what my wife tells me.

Planning a Small Wedding

A small wedding is far more intimate than a large, formal gathering.  It gives you more time to spend with your family and friends, and is generally less stressful to plan.

Planning a small wedding, which will include a few close friends and family members, gives you a greater variety of options on many of the details.  For example, you have a greater variety of food options to choose from.  You can do hors d’oeuvres, a buffet, or a fully catered meal. If the party is really small, you can even opt for a nice restaurant.

A smaller wedding will also save you money, which you can then spend in places where it matters more.  None of your guests will remember what they ate or drank, but the photos and videos will last forever.  You may be able to afford a nicer down, and you want to get that captured on film.

Planning a smaller wedding allows you to involve your guests to a greater degree.  You can have more of them closer to you than you would be able to add a larger gathering.

Planning a small wedding does not mean that you have a small budget, as you can still spend as much or more money than you would spend on a large wedding.  However, a smaller wedding gives you a greater variety of options in all areas, and allows you to spend the money where you think it would be most important.
